Frequently asked questions
Getting started
Yamaha Creator Pass is a subscription service operated by Yamaha that gives music and audio creators access to a hand-picked collection of creative tools—all connected under one login and one subscription. By working with selected creative partners, Yamaha brings everything you need for your creative journey together in one place. You can choose from four Pass options based on your needs: Starter, Growth, Pro, and Podcaster.
Yes. Yamaha Creator Pass is an official service operated by Yamaha, designed to support music and audio creators through a trusted, high-quality creative ecosystem. Yamaha provides the platform and manages access, while selected trusted partners deliver the individual creative tools and services included in each Pass.
When you subscribe through Yamaha Creator Pass, you get access to a curated bundle of creative tools from trusted partners under one subscription and one login. Compared to purchasing services individually, Yamaha Creator Pass can offer better overall value through bundled pricing, added benefits such as exclusive add-ons, and a more streamlined experience with centralized access and billing. It's designed to simplify your creative workflow while giving you more tools and flexibility as you grow.
Once you sign up, Yamaha Creator Pass becomes your central hub. From your account page, you'll access included tools and services and be guided to partner platforms where you can download, activate, and use them.
If you're new to music or audio creation, the Starter Pass is a great place to start. It's designed to make getting started simple while still giving you room to grow.
No. As a general rule, you can subscribe to only one Pass at a time. However, the Podcaster Pass focuses on a different creative workflow (voice and spoken-word content) and may be held in combination with one of the music-creation Passes (Starter, Growth or Pro). For example, you may simultaneously hold a Growth Pass and a Podcaster Pass. The same Pass cannot be subscribed to under multiple billing plans (for example, monthly and annual) at the same time.
Some partner services may offer mobile apps or mobile-friendly access. However, Yamaha Creator Pass is primarily designed for use on computers.
Yes. Yamaha Creator Pass is designed to grow over time, and additional tools, features, and partner services may be added in the future.
Passes & Plans
Each Pass is designed around a different creative workflow. The Starter Pass focuses on getting started with music creation, the Growth Pass supports creators ready for more advanced workflows, the Pro Pass provides professional-grade production tools and exclusive promotion features, and the Podcaster Pass is built for voice and spoken-word content.
The Starter Pass gives you a curated set of essential tools to start making music, including a music creation app and learning resources, AI mastering, and global music distribution—everything you need to create, polish, and release your first tracks. It is the perfect entry point into music creation on the Yamaha Creators Platform.
With the Starter Pass, you can start creating original music, beats, and audio content, experiment with sounds, and build the foundation of your creative workflow. It's the perfect starting point for turning ideas into real projects.
As your skills and creative needs evolve, Yamaha Creator Pass grows with you. You can change to another Pass at any time, unlocking more advanced tools and features when you're ready. Please note that switching between Passes currently requires cancelling your current Pass and signing up for the new one.
No prior experience is required. All you need is a computer and the curiosity to start creating. The Starter Pass is designed to remove technical barriers and make the first steps into music and audio creation as smooth as possible.
You can start creating right away. Once you sign up, you'll have immediate access to the tools included in the Starter Pass, so you can jump in and start experimenting as soon as you're ready.
The Growth Pass is designed for creators ready to move beyond the basics, providing a fuller music creation toolkit including sampling, learning, mastering, plugins, and global distribution. The Pro Pass builds on the Growth Pass by upgrading included services to their professional tiers and adding exclusive creative and promotion tools such as Output One, effects expansions, and monthly Groover credits—giving you a more powerful studio and more ways to get your music heard.
The Growth and Pro Passes offers more advanced tools and greater creative flexibility than the Starter Pass. They're designed for creators who have moved beyond the basics and are ready for deeper control, higher-quality results, and a more professional production experience.
Yes. The Pro Pass is built to support professional-level workflows, making it suitable for producing, releasing, and refining music for real-world projects. It's designed to scale with your creative ambitions.
No. While the Growth and Pro Passes support advanced workflows, you don't need a professional studio to get started. If you have a computer and a basic setup, you can take full advantage of the tools included.
Podcaster Pass includes everything you need to record, edit, and produce podcast episodes with Riverside Pro.
The Podcaster Pass is ideal for podcasters at any stage, from those launching their first show to creators producing episodes on a regular schedule. It's built to support both beginners and experienced podcasters with a simple, reliable workflow.
No prior experience is required. The Podcaster Pass is designed to make podcast creation approachable, even if you're just getting started. The tools are intuitive and help guide you through the process from recording to release.
With the Podcaster Pass, you can record, edit, and publish podcast episodes and other spoken-word audio content as part of a streamlined workflow. It's designed to support everything from solo shows to collaborative conversations.
No. You don't need a professional studio to get started. A computer and basic recording setup are enough to begin creating with the Podcaster Pass. For higher-quality sound, we recommend using a dedicated microphone
Benefit services are our partners that offer exclusive discounts, free trials, or special perks to Yamaha Creator Pass subscribers. Unlike bundled services that are included in your subscription, benefit service offers are additional bonuses you can choose to use at your own discretion. (Current list as of May 2026 — un:hurd, RoEx, Linktree, Fourthwall, DISCO, [untitled], SymphonyOS, freebeat.ai, SoundCloud, Steinberg, Adobe, Offtop, Distrokid, Mogul, Audioshake, Freebeat, VOCALOID.)
Add-on services let you purchase additional tools on top of your subscription for an extra fee. Unlike benefit services, add-on purchases are handled directly through Yamaha Creator Pass—we manage the transaction and connect your account automatically via single sign-on (SSO). (Current list as of March 5, 2026 retained — Tone3000, Vocaloid, Mogul, Audioshake, Distrokid, all coming soon.)
Yamaha Creator Pass grows with you. You can switch to a different Pass at any time to unlock tools that match your evolving needs. Please note that you can have only one active Pass at a time (with the exception that the Podcaster Pass may be combined with another Pass), and switching between Passes currently requires cancelling your current Pass and signing up for the new one.
At this time, Yamaha Creator Pass is designed for individual creators. Team or multi-user plans are not currently available.
Yes. Yamaha Creator Pass offers a free trial. Trial availability and duration may vary by Pass, promotion, or region and will be clearly indicated during signup.
The free trial gives you access to eligible features of your selected Pass at no cost. If you cancel before the trial ends, you won't be charged. Each user is generally eligible for one free trial per Pass type (Starter, Growth, Pro, and Podcaster). After the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin unless you cancel.
No. Groover is not included in the free trial. Groover operates on a credit-based model, and access begins only after your paid subscription starts.
Pricing, Billing & Payments
Pricing varies by Pass and package. Current prices are shown on the pricing page and during checkout.
Available payment methods vary by region and may include major credit and debit cards. Supported options are shown at checkout.
You'll be charged at the start of each billing period (monthly or annual). Your next billing date is always visible in your account.
Billing is handled on a recurring basis according to your selected subscription plan. Your payment method will be charged automatically at the start of each billing period unless you make changes to your subscription.
You can view your invoices and payment history from your account page. This includes past charges and details for each billing period.
For customers in the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK), Subscription Fees are displayed and charged in the local currency on a tax-inclusive basis—the price you see already includes any applicable Value Added Tax (VAT) and similar indirect taxes. For customers in other regions, taxes may apply depending on your location and local regulations and will be shown at checkout before you complete your purchase. Yamaha may apply local-currency, tax-inclusive pricing to additional countries or regions in the future.
Currency depends on your region. Customers in the EU are charged in Euros (EUR) and customers in the UK are charged in British Pounds (GBP). Customers in other regions are charged in U.S. Dollars (USD) or another designated local currency. The applicable currency will be clearly displayed before you confirm payment.
Availability depends on the region. If Yamaha Creator Pass is available in your country, you'll be able to complete signup and see local payment options.
Annual plans are non-refundable. If you cancel, your access remains active until the end of the paid period.
You can choose between monthly and annual payment plans. The annual plan offers a lower effective monthly cost compared to paying month to month, giving you better value when you commit for a full year.
You may temporarily lose access until the issue is resolved. You can update your payment method in your account.
Yes. You can update your payment method, billing address, and other billing details directly from your account page at any time.
Changing or Managing Your Pass
You can manage your Yamaha Creator Pass subscription from your account page. From there, you can view your active Passes, update billing information, and make changes to your subscription settings.
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. There are no cancellation fees, and your access will remain active until the end of your current billing period.
Pass changes work as follows:
- Switching to a different Pass — you can switch at any time, but you must cancel your current subscription and then sign up for the new Pass. Your current subscription remains active until the end of your billing period.
- Combining the Podcaster Pass with another Pass — because the Podcaster Pass covers a different creative workflow, you may add a Podcaster Pass to an existing Starter, Growth or Pro Pass subscription (and vice versa). Aside from this Podcaster combination, you cannot hold more than one Pass at a time.
- Changing billing cycles (for example, switching from monthly to annual on the same Pass) — also requires cancelling your current cycle and re-enrolling in the desired cycle. We do not currently support automatic upgrades or downgrades. See “When do Pass changes take effect?” below for details.
Yamaha Creator Pass does not currently support automatic upgrades or downgrades between Passes. To change to a different Pass, please cancel your current subscription and re-enroll in the new Pass. Your current subscription remains active until the end of your billing period, and the new Pass begins when you complete the new enrollment. The same applies to changes between billing cycles (for example, switching from monthly to annual on the same Pass): cancel the current cycle and re-enroll in the desired cycle. We're working to enable in-place plan changes in a future update.
If you re-enroll in the same Pass after cancelling, the partner services within that Pass will generally retain your account data, subject to each partner's data retention policy. If you switch to a different Pass, the included software and services differ, so data and settings tied to services not included in the new Pass may no longer be accessible. Please review each partner service's data policies before making changes.
Partner Services & Included Tools
Included tools vary by Pass and package. The most up-to-date list is always shown on each Pass page, the pricing page, and in your account.
You'll access everything from your Yamaha Creator Pass account page.
No. Yamaha Creator ID provides a unified single sign-on (SSO) experience, giving you seamless access to supported partner services without managing multiple logins.
For questions about functionality, features, or errors, please contact the service provider directly using the support links provided. Yamaha Creator Pass manages access and billing, while each partner handles support for their own products.
Access to included services ends when your subscription ends. Any content you created remains subject to each service's terms.
Supported operating systems vary by the tools and services included in your Pass. Most services support modern versions of Windows and macOS. Detailed requirements are available on each partner's website.
A stable broadband internet connection is recommended for downloading software, syncing data, and using cloud-based services. Required speeds may vary by tool and usage.
Credits & Usage Limits
Groover credits roll over and are forfeited when your subscription ends. Additional credits may be purchased directly from Groover and are subject to Groover's terms. The number of Groover credits provided per month while your subscription is active is as displayed on the Yamaha Creator Pass website and in your account. Groover credits are not available during the free trial period.
No. LANDR Distribution is not included in the free trial. Distribution access begins only after your paid subscription starts, so you can start using it once your trial converts to a paid plan.
Hardware Plans & Shipping (U.S. Only)
For select annual plans available in the contiguous United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii), the Yamaha AG01 microphone is purchased and owned by you at signup—it is not a rental. Shipping within the contiguous U.S. is included, with no import taxes or additional shipping fees. No return is required if you cancel your subscription, and the microphone is covered by Yamaha’s standard manufacturer warranty.

Yes. You may still be able to purchase additional services directly from partner platforms, depending on the partner's policies and available offerings. If you delete your Yamaha Creator ID, your personal information and your Yamaha Creator Pass account data will be deleted in accordance with Yamaha's privacy and data retention policies. This means you will lose access to your Passes and included services, and your account cannot be restored.
No. Yamaha Creator ID accounts cannot be merged. Each account is managed separately, so you'll need to choose which account to use for your Yamaha Creator Pass.
Cancel, Pause & Refunds
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. There are no cancellation fees, and your access will remain active until the end of your current billing period.
Subscriptions are non-refundable. However, you'll continue to have access until the end of your billing period.
Data, Rights & Security
You own your content. Yamaha Creator Pass does not claim ownership of your creations.
Data storage and processing vary by region and service providers. Safeguards are described in the Privacy Policy.
Yamaha shares only the information needed to provide access and operate included services with its partner companies. Each partner handles your data according to their own privacy policies and applicable laws, and Yamaha applies safeguards to protect your information.
Yes. You can request deletion of your Yamaha Creator ID and related data in accordance with Yamaha's privacy and data retention policies. Please contact us at support@yamahacreatorpass.zendesk.com
No. Yamaha does not use your personal creative content for marketing without your permission. Your work remains yours, subject to the terms of each partner service you use.
Yes. You can use Yamaha Creator Pass for commercial and client projects, subject to the license terms and conditions of the individual tools and services included in your Pass.
After you cancel, you will lose access to your Passes and included services at the end of your billing period. Your data will be handled according to Yamaha's and each partner's data retention and privacy policies.
If you rejoin Yamaha Creator Pass in the future, your data may or may not be available depending on how long it has been since you canceled and the data retention policies of Yamaha and each partner service.
Plan Transition for Existing Subscribers (NEW)
When Yamaha Creator Pass launches its new plan structure (Starter Pass, Growth Pass, Pro Pass and Podcaster Pass), your current Pass will be treated as follows: (a) For Podcaster Pass subscribers — your subscription will be automatically migrated to the new Podcaster Pass, with no change to the included Riverside Pro service or to your subscription pricing. No action is required on your part. (b) For Beginner Pass and Producer Pass subscribers (including any Plus or Complete tier) — your current plan will continue uninterrupted under the same terms, content and pricing then in effect, unless you choose to switch to a new Pass or cancel your subscription. We refer to such continued plans as “Legacy Plans.” (Special rules apply to subscribers resident in the EU or UK; see below.)
Yes. You can switch to any of the new Passes at any time. Because automatic upgrades and downgrades are not currently supported, you will need to cancel your current Pass and then sign up for the new Pass you want from your account page. Your current Pass will remain active until the end of your current billing period, and your new Pass will begin when you complete the new enrollment. Note that, once you cancel a Legacy Plan, you cannot return to that Legacy Plan—only the then-currently offered Passes will be available for re-enrollment.
Yes (with one exception for subscribers in the EU or UK). If you do not switch to a new Pass and do not cancel your subscription, your current Pass will continue uninterrupted under the same terms, content and pricing then in effect. Your data, settings and access to the partner services included in your Pass will be preserved as before. Subscribers resident in the EU or UK should see the FAQ on EU/UK transition below.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. There are no cancellation fees, and your access to your current Pass will remain active until the end of your current billing period. After cancellation, you will lose access to the Pass and the included partner services, and your data will be handled according to Yamaha's and each partner's data retention and privacy policies.
For Podcaster Pass subscribers, the new launch is essentially a re-positioning of your plan within the new Yamaha Creators Platform structure. Your subscription will be automatically migrated to the new Podcaster Pass with no change to the included Riverside Pro service or to your subscription pricing. No action is required on your part, and there is no “legacy plan” concept that applies to your Pass. (Subscribers resident in the EU or UK will see local-currency, tax-inclusive pricing as part of the launch—see Section 3 for details.)
For subscribers resident in the EU or the UK, the new local-currency, tax-inclusive pricing structure (described in Section 3) will apply to your subscription as part of the new launch. (a) If you are subscribed to a Beginner Pass or Producer Pass at the time of launch, you may continue your current plan only until your “Legacy Plan End Date,” which is the date of your next renewal after Yamaha gives you notice of the discontinuation of legacy plans in your territory (with at least one month's prior notice). On or before your Legacy Plan End Date, you will need to either switch to one of the new Passes or cancel your subscription. (b) Podcaster Pass subscribers are not affected by this Legacy Plan rule, since the Podcaster Pass content and end-user pricing are unchanged—only the way pricing is displayed (local currency, tax-inclusive) will change.
This depends on the partner service. (a) For partner services that are included in both your current Pass and your new Pass, your account data with that partner will generally be preserved (subject to each partner's data retention policy and your continued login using the same Yamaha Creator ID). (b) For partner services that are not included in your new Pass, you will lose access to those services, and any data or settings tied to such services may no longer be accessible. We recommend reviewing the included services in each Pass before switching, and downloading or backing up any important data from services you will no longer have access to.
In most cases, the price of your current Pass will not change as long as you remain on your current Pass. The new pricing structure (and any local-currency, tax-inclusive pricing for the EU and UK) applies to the new Passes. Exception: subscribers resident in the EU or UK will, as described above, transition off legacy plans by their Legacy Plan End Date, after which they must subscribe to one of the new Passes at the new pricing or cancel their subscription. Yamaha may also adjust pricing in the future in accordance with the Terms of Use, with at least one month's prior notice.
You can find the most up-to-date details about each new Pass — including included tools and partner services, pricing, billing options and any region-specific terms — on the Yamaha Creator Pass website and in your account page. If you have specific questions about your transition or about the new Passes, please contact us at support@yamahacreatorpass.zendesk.com.
